These days, the number of newly released book writing apps has decreased. Their quality is not impressive, either.
In that regard, Writing Streak is quite refreshing. The online software in a beta stage has lots of useful features.
Here are some of its nice features.
- Progress bar on top of the editor screen
- Real-time word count
- Dark theme for distraction-free full-screen editor
- Timer mode that allows you to focus on writing
- Writing goals for a period and each day
- Calendar that shows how many words you wrote each day
- Writing streak indicator showing whether you kept writing without breaking a chain
One thing you will like about this app is a progress bar. The progress bar is more effective than word counts in helping writers to overcome distraction and focus on writing. Until now, the only writing software that had this feature was the Writemonkey for Windows.
When the beta stage is over, the app will cost $10 per month. At present, it is free. For more information on how to get the account, even a lifetime premium, check out the website.
Here are screen captures of the app.
P.S.: One thing missing in Writing Streak is a typewriter mode. If you keep writing, the lines go down and you have to write at the bottom of the browser.
